Overview

The Great Rann of Kutch (or Rann of Kutch seasonal salt marsh) is a salt marsh in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat, India. It is about 7500 km2 (2900 sq miles) in area and is reputed to be one of the largest salt deserts in the world.

The Little Rann of Kutch, including the Banni grasslands on its southern edge, is situated in the district of Kutch and comprises some 30,000 square kilometres (10,000 sq mi) between the Gulf of Kutch and the mouth of the Indus River in southern Pakistan. The marsh can be accessed from the village of Kharaghoda in Surendranagar District. The Great Rann of Kutch together with the Little Rann of Kutch is called Rann of Kutch.

In India’s summer monsoon, the flat semi-desert of salty clay and mudflats, which average 15 meters above sea level, fills with standing water. In very wet years, the wetland extends from the Gulf of Kutch on the west through to the Gulf of Khambhat on the east.

Itinerary

Bhuj Railway Station - Rann Tent Stay

Pick up from Bhuj Railway Station and Transfer to Resort. After breakfast proceed to Kala Dungar Magnetic Hill for Sightseeing. Check in at Rooms and lunch at Resort. Leisure time upto 4:00 pm . At 6:30 pm depart for sunset at Rann. At 9:00 pm Enjoy Dinner with cultural Program at Resort. ( BLD)

Rann Local Sightseeing

At 6:30 am Leave to enjoy Magical Views of Sunrise at Rann. and back to Resort. At 9:30 am Leave for Ashapura Mata Temple. Sightseeing at Narayan Sarovar , Koteshwar Temple. Enjoy Lunch & Return to Resort. At 9:00 pm Enjoy Dinner with Cultural Program at Resort. ( BLD)

Rann - Bhuj Railway Station

After breakfast Check out from Hotel and Enjoy Bhuj Local Sightseeing. Visit Shamji Krishna Varma Memorial . 72 Jinalay Jain Temple. Visit Bhujodi Handicraft Village. Enroute Lunch and Evening Katchi Dabeli. Transfer to Airport / Railway Station. ( BL)

We were group of 55 peoples. Konkan paryatan ( Mr.Mulik sir) took care of each and everyone.Hotel was good 150 mtrs away from beautyfull tarkarli sea. Food was tasty, except lunch served at gajanan annexe on 2nd day of our tour.
