Overview

Sindhudurg district is the southern part of the Konkan coast which is historically known for its long coast line and safe harbours. Sindhudurg district was earlier a part of Ratnagiri district.The 16th century saw the advent and rise of Portuguese power on the west coast of India and Sindhudurg was not immune. The sultan lost his hold on the district in 1675 with the rise of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and the district became part of the Maratha Empire.

The name of the district has been adopted from the sea fort of Sindhudurg. This was built by Shivaji Maharaj near Malwan and its name literally means ‘Sea Fort’. Its construction started on 25 November 1664 and was completed in three years. Sindhudurg district now comprises the eight tahsils of Sawantwadi, Kudal, Vengurla, Malvan, Devgad, Kankavli, Vaibhavwadi and Dodamarg.

Vengurla – Reddi Ganesh -Famous for Swayambhu Ganesh in sitting position. Aaravali Vetoba – God Vetoba is presented with new Chappals, they believe that God Secures them from all kind of Evils. Velaghar Beach – It is a beautiful & lonely beach. The greenary on the beach side is marvelous.Pleasing Bhandari Seafood. Stay at Sawantwadi. (BLD)

Sawantwadi - Tarkarli

Sindhudurga Fort built amidst the sea by Shivaji Maharaj, Tarkarli Backwater – the most inviting sea beach of Kokan. (Snorkeling & Scuba diving: swimming underwater with special breathing equipment. Parasailing: pulled behind a motorboat while wearing a parachute so that you sail through the air. Watersports – Speed boat, Scooter Boat, Kayaking, Jetskiing, Bumper ride, Banana ride – Sport Activities cost not included in this package.) Malvan : Suvarna Ganesh Mandir – Riddhi Siddhi Ganesh. Tarkarli - Deogad - Ganpatipule

  • The company does not provide LTC (Leave Travel Concession) documents. Incase of group Packages we only provide a comprehensive bill (meals + travel+ accommodation) of the total cost. We were group of 55 peoples. Konkan paryatan ( Mr.Mulik sir) took care of each and everyone.Hotel was good 150 mtrs away from beautyfull tarkarli sea. Food was tasty, except lunch served at gajanan annexe on 2nd day of our tour.
